Jeff Luppino-Esposito is a Sicilian-American writer & lyricist. He was born in Bogota, New Jersey and grew up in Wyckoff, NJ. He studied at the University of Virginia where he began writing musicals with frequent collaborator Matt Sav. Together they created the first-ever interactive online musical and a series of viral musical shorts.
The duo then went on to create original content for Nickelodeon in New York City including the musical shorts “Randall the Wrapping Paper Monster,” and the show “Hall Stars,” a mockumentary-style pilot for kids.
Jeff moved to Los Angeles in 2014 to pursue musical writing for film and TV full time. In LA, he also began studying and performing improv at the Upright Citizens Brigade.
Over the next five years, he co-wrote the track “Jet Lag” performed by Jay Pharoah in the YouTube Original Series “Champaign, ILL,” the original stage show “Nantucket! The MusACKal” which runs every summer at Centre Stage in Massachusetts, and the song “You Made Me,” which appeared in H&M’s campaign with Hailey Baldwin and on Connor Franta’s “Common Culture IV” compilation.
In 2017 he began work with Matt Sav and fellow musical writer Brett Ryback on the original musical podcast “In Strange Woods” and in 2018 produced a pilot demo that featured Donna Lynne Champlin, Patrick Page, and Lily Mae Harrington.
Jeff is married to actress Julia Addis and they reside in Los Angeles.
