Lanisa Dawn

Lanisa can be seen as one of the title characters in Renaud Gauthier’s feature film “Aquaslash”, which recently premiered at the Fantasia Film Festival in July 2019. Other film and TV credits include Daniel Roby’s “Gut Instinct”, CBC television “The Detectives”, and as recurring characters in two french Quebec web-series – the award nominated “L’Ascenseur” on ici tou TV & “Oh My Lord!” on VRAK TV. Working on a number of short films, she was the co-lead in “Lust” which was nominated for screening at TIFF. Lanisa’s first time working on a feature film was in 2016, when she was cast in a supporting role in a horror film that shot on site in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

In 2014, Lanisa was hired by an overseas theatrical company as “Resident Actress” during a one year tenure. Throughout the year with the company, she toured & performed all over Hong Kong, Macau, and Guangzhou China. Lanisa was also a workshop facilitator, leading drama workshops for youth. She has also been involved in the musical theatre scene in Montreal, performing in shows at the Centaur, Segal Centre, and Rialto Theatre.

Today, she continues to train with renowned acting coaches and teachers in Montreal and abroad, believing deeply in the value of continued exercise and development of the craft of acting. In 2013, she trained in the summer conservatory program at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NYC.

Also a singer-songwriter, she released her first single called “Witness” which garnered attention and features in a number of international blogs. Her next single “First Look” is being released in August 2019, sure to be a fun summer anthem that spreads good vibes to its listeners.
