George Katt, a versatile and award-winning actor, was born and raised in New York City. He began his training and career on the New York City stages and in theater.
His dedication to his craft and his ability to transform into a diversity of characters have earned him much success in film with award-winning accolades and recognition in popular film festival circuits; Playing a variety of leading man and character roles.
In 2008 he earned a Best Breakthrough Actor Award for his starring performance opposite Danny Trejo in the independent feature film Valley of Angels; showcasing his range and talents as a young Zachary Andrews (a street-smart Los Angeles peddler that becomes entangled in a way of life he desperately seeks an out from) with an honest vulnerability and intricate and immersed performance.
Katt recently guest-stars on hit TV shows NBC’s Blindspot, CBS’ Blue Bloods and CBS’ Unforgettable and has also guest starred, recurred and makes appearances on shows for CBS, WB, ABC, NBC, FOX, A&E, Comedy Central, IFC, Showtime and other networks (Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, Rude Awakening, Fugitive Chronicles, The Agency, Important Things with Demetri Martin, Gilmore Girls, Popular, etc).
In film, George Katt stars in leading male and strong supporting roles in award-winning and world-wide distributed film releases (ranging from independent to studio pictures and; drama, comedy, sci-fi, crime, thriller, horror, action): Recent starring roles include Alienated (opposite the late Taylor Negron, House of Bodies playing Oscar- Nominated Peter Fonda’s son in the film (also starring opposite Oscar-Nominated actors Terrence Howard & Queen Latifah), Percentage (w/ Ving Rhames, Macy Gray & Omar Gooding; produced by Queen Latifah), the award-winning features Turnabout (w/ Peter Greene & Waylon Payne), The Maladjusted, In Montauk, Red Sheep, In the Gray (w/ Lee Arenberg & Martin Klebba), Red Right Return (w/ Leo Fitzpatrick), Iside Llewyn Davis (w/ John Goodman & directed by The Coen Brothers), The Family, Bastards of Young (w/ Lucy Walters), Raining Hell, Darkest Before Dawn (produced by Jay Z) etc.

2017/2018: Katt is making an appearance in Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman (starring Robert Deniro & Al Pacino) and is now in preparation to star in the feature film drama Harmless, a film based on true story events set in 1969 (opposite Oscar-Nominee Sally Kellerman & Dana Ashbrook from David Lynch’s hit series Twin Peaks).
In his free time Katt enjoys reading, writing his screenplays, boxing training (both his father and grandfather were professional boxers in Europe), film-making, meditating, playing guitar/writing music, and practices positive thinking and positive energy. He also spends his time volunteering for various NYC programs that help feed children and the homeless (Food Bank 4 NYC, No Kid Hungry), environmental awareness programs and non-profit cancer research and support charities and programs.
After recently losing his own father to a battle with cancer, George Katt dedicates his work and way of life to honor his father’s ways, art, spirit and memory.
George is also the Founder and Artistic Director of “The Indies Lab” in NYC; a multicultural ensemble of seasoned professional actors, writers, directors and filmmakers driven by a commitment to artistic excellence, creative exploration, and passion for significant work; to nurture artistic growth and to develop vital new works in independent cinema, television and stage.
